Participatory Event Scoring

Basketball Shootout

  • 1 point is awarded for a 3’ basket.
  • 3 points are awarded for a 10’ basket.
  • 5 points are awarded for a 20’ basket.

Corn Hole Toss

  • 3 points if bag goes in the hole.
  • 1 point if bag stays on the board.
  • 4-minute time limit.

Field Hockey Shot

  • 7 point goal — 12 meter shot from right and left (45-degree angle).
  • 5 point goal — 12 meter shot from straight ahead.
  • 3 point goal — penalty stroke.

Football Accuracy Throw

  • 5-yard pass is worth 1 points.
  • 10-yard pass is worth 3 points.
  • 15-yard pass is worth 5 points.
  • 20-yard pass is worth 7 points.
  • 45-second time limit.

Frisbee Toss

  • Team with highest number of Frisbees dropped in the basket wins.
  • 90-second time limit.

Golf Chip Challenge

  • 5 points for shots that fall into the smaller, interior basket.
  • 3 points for shots that fall into the middle basket.
  • 1 point for shots that fall into the larger, exterior basket.

Parallel Parking

  • 25 points for successfully parking a mid-sized vehicle.
  • 75 points for successfully parking a large vehicle.

Soccer Shootout

  • 10 point goal.
  • 7 point goal.
  • 5 point goal.
  • 3 point goal.
  • 1 point goal.

Skill Events Overall Point Distribution

With the exception of Parallel Parking, point totals for each team member in all participatory events will be added to calculate the overall team score. The highest scoring teams in each division will be awarded points based on the following order:

  • 1st Place = 100 points
  • 2nd Place = 60 points
  • 3rd Place = 40 points
  • 4th Place = 20 points
  • All teams that finish 5th and below will be awarded 10 points

Competitive Event Scoring

3 x 3 Basketball

  • 1st place team = 100 points
  • 2nd place team = 60 points
  • 3rd and 4th place teams (lost in the semi-finals) = 40 points each
  • 5th-8th (lost in the quarterfinals) = 20 points each
  • All other participating teams receive 10 points

Dodgeball

  • 1st place team = 100 points
  • 2nd place team = 60 points
  • 3rd and 4th place teams (lost in the semi-finals) = 40 points each
  • All other participating teams receive 10 points

Team Challenge

  • 1st place team = 100 points
  • 2nd place team = 60 points
  • 3rd and 4th place teams = 30 points each (lost in the semi-finals)
  • All other participating teams receive 10 points

Softball Home Run Derby

  • 5 points for an over-the-fence home run.
  • 1 point for an on-the-fly catch in outfield.

Republic Bank Tug-of-War

  • 1st place team = 200 points
  • 2nd place team = 120 points
  • 3rd and 4th place teams (lost in the semi-finals) = 80 points each
  • 5th-8th (lost in the quarterfinals) = 40 points each
  • All other participating teams receive 20 points

Volleyball

  • Points earned by rally scoring.
  • Game is played to 30 points

Water Balloon Toss

  • Points are earned for every intact balloon that is passed up/down the line and placed in a bucket.

Good Sports Activities Scoring

Horseshoe Southern Indiana Wellness Walk

  • 5 points will be awarded for all who finish, up to a maximum of 50 points per team.

Team Selfie

  • 10 points awarded for each different action photo taken of your team up to five photos, 50 points total.

Food Drive

  • Teams in each division that donate non-perishable food items will earn 50 points.

Playing it Forward

  • Teams in each division that donate sports equipment will earn 50 points.

Team T-Shirt Contest

Event staff will select the company they believe has the best company t-shirt design per division.

  • 1st place team = 50 points
  • 2nd place team = 25 points
  • 3rd place team = 10 points

Team Tailgating Contest

Event staff will select which company they believe has the best company tailgating/team spirit per division.

  • 1st place team = 50 points
  • 2nd place team = 25 points
  • 3rd place team = 10 points

 


Overall Points Tiebreaker

If teams are tied in points, the following rules apply:

  1. Head-to-head competition within the event
  2. Number of games/matches played before elimination
  3. Points scored for and against within the event
  4. Flip of a coin

Can substitutions to the team roster be made on the day of the event?

Sorry, but we can’t make any changes to the team’s roster on the day of the event. However, if there are any issues, team captains should go to the “Information Tent”.

Can we enter more than one person per age group in the mile?

You may enter only one male and one female competitor in each age group.
